CELLQ® products are formulated and produced in Poland. Our product range consists of basic products in the whole viscosity range as well as tailor-made solutions for specific purposes. The HSH Chemie Innovation Center is located at Wielkopolska Center of Advanced Technology in Poznan, Poland and provides full technical support to our customers according to EU standards.
CELLQ® product range is based on cellulose ethers obtained from cotton. Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose modified with functional additions to achieve the desired properties. The thickeners are designed mostly for dry mortars, based on mineral binder (cement, gypsum). The main applications are ETICS insulation systems, CTA adhesives for tiles, cement and gypsum machine plasters, putties, masonry and thin layer mortars. Delayed solubility of some grades makes them useful for ready to use products such as paints, plasters or primers.
CELLQ® products are present in the entire viscosity range, depending on the molar mass (chain length) of the polymer and the degree of etherification. CELLQ® thickening effect depends on the degree of modification and the functional additives used. Depending on the modification type, these thickeners effectively reduce sagging, extend open time, eliminate the orange peel effect over time, shift the flow limit or give the mortar other unique properties.
One of the basic applications are thermal insulation systems. The optimal products for gluing polystyrene board are within the CELLQ® 45xx range with a viscosity of 45,000 mPa*s. The use of long chain hydroxypropyl methylcellulose ensures high water retention even at low dosage. The cement has sufficient amount of water for proper hydration. Number of independent tests, certificates and approvals are available on request.
CELLQ® cellulose thickeners designed for machine plasters have optimal parameters to ensure the mortar high water retention, contributing to optimal cement hydration, thus reducing potential cracks while drying. A high shift of the flow point (Yield point) causes the plaster to behave in the same way on vertical (walls) and horizontal (ceilings) surfaces, sticking well to the applied surface. CELLQ® formulation causes that the mortar does not stick to the tools, making it possible to quickly and effectively bring out a smooth surface. An unique CELLQ® composition stabilizes the gas bubbles in the mortar, providing ease of pumpability without blocking the hoses and nozzles, reducing micro cracks.
CELLQ® thickeners are suitable for most of the adhesive types, so they can be used for adhesives in classes C1 (normal), C2 (improved) and gel adhesives, ensuring compliance with F (fast setting), E (extended open time) and T (reduced slip) standards. Depending on the degree of modification, CELLQ® thickeners can compact the mortar very effectively, eliminating vertical slip even for large-format tiles. Some grades provide reduced retardation on cement hydration to meet requirement for the water immersion test. Cohesion of the mortar is improved to achieve requirement for the heat aging test as well offering above-average application properties (at the same time meeting the requirements for C2TE or even C2TES1 adhesives, depending on the RDP used).
