Herbal Formulas Found to Be Beneficial for Heart, Liver, and Joint Health

An increasing number of people are looking to dietary supplements to improve their health. In recent clinical trials, the efficacy of herbal formulas as dietary supplements has shown promise in enhancing i.e. heart, liver, and joint health. This article delves into the advantages that food supplements can provide today: focusing on their potential benefits derived from natural ingredients. Some with ingredients as commonplace as ginger, garlic, and bitter melon.

Herbal formula trials indicate numerous health benefits

In recent years, extensive research and trial programs have been undertaken with various food supplements, indicating significant results. Within out product portfolio we offer three herbal formulas that can enrich your products for heart, liver and joint health.

One of those offered herbal formulations shows discernible promise in improving heart health. In a 120-day clinical study involving 100 patients, the formulation exhibited significant improvements in key lipid profile parameters, including total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides (TGL), very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), and the total HDL-cholesterol ratio (TC/HDL).

In the study for one of our liver herbal formulas, a group was given a 1,000 mg daily dose of the formula, comparing the effects on their liver health to a control group. In this clinical trial, the alanine aminotransferase (ALT) level was boosted by more than twice the amount found in the control group. A similar reduction of aspartate aminotransferase (AST) was also detected. Both are known to be associated with liver health.

When the third herbal formula was tested and assessed for its effectiveness for sore joints, trial participants were found to have a substantially better score for discomfort level than those taking a placebo (a 71% decrease compared with 49% in the control group). Better performance with knee flexion and the number of times participants could stand up were also found to be significant

The science behind nutraceuticals

Some pharmaceutical manufacturers are skeptical about herbal formulations in their products. However, nutraceuticals, which are food supplements that often contain natural ingredients, are met with an increasing interest and undergoing more and more clinical trials. For example, in the joint-improving herbal formula trial, participants were asked to undergo 30-second stand and 30-second chair-stand tests, which are also widely used in pharmaceutical assessments nowadays.

While regulatory bodies like the FDA haven't categorized these herbal formulas as cures, the available studies suggest substantial health benefits for heart, liver, and joint health. Since this is being met by a large group of interested consumer, we see a promising future for nutraceuticals

Likewise, specific HACCP and HARPC procedures are followed to help ensure that quality is maintained in each batch. Physical and chemical parameter checks and HPTLC chromatographic fingerprinting are also undertaken to confirm ingredient stability and microbial profiles, among other product characteristics

Finding the right blend

Although the natural ingredients used in the heart herbal formula that's been trialed differ from those in the joint formula and the liver formula, there are some commonalities. Ginger is found in both the heart and the liver dietary supplement formulation, for example, though the specific quantities vary. Turmeric and frankincense are used in the joint health formula along with a host of other ingredients.
