Chief Accountant (f/m/d)

Your responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Managing Director for Bulgaria and the Group Chief Accountant
  • You will be in-charge of all accounting activities in our local HSH office
  • Ensuring a smooth monthly and annual closing process – supporting correct and timely checking, reporting and analysing accounting data
  • Fully responsible for preparing financial and performance reports, assisting all departments with annual budgets and reviews, internal control and tax studies
  • Handling local Finance & Accounting team activities by delegating and organizing the tasks, and monitoring and supporting their execution
  • Ensuring that our local HSH office abides with the set of laws implemented by the state, as well as observing the adopted corporate rules, related to taxes and handing financial transactions, and in regards of the classification of accounting documents and keeping all required register
  • Monitoring financial performance and cash flows of the Company, revising any discrepancies of reports, checking the Company’s assets and liabilities that could affect its equity in the future
  • Managing the communication with National Revenue Agency (NRA), National Social Security Institute (NSSI), National Statistical Institute (NSI), Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) and other state authorities (and preparing related documentation)
  • Communicating effectively and in a timely manner with all units within the local Company and with our colleagues from the Group Finance Team

Your profile

  • University background in Finance & Accounting field of education
  • Previous relevant work experience is a mandatory requirement
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Bulgarian accounting and tax legislation
  • Previous experience with German Accounting Standards would be considered an advantage
  • Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite, especially data processing with Excel, ERP systems, etc.)
  • Bulgarian and English languages - ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written
  • Analytical skills, attention to details and ability to cope with deadlines are essential for the role
  • Team player, responsible, proactive and friendly attitude
  • Curious and adaptive, wiling to learn continuously and to exchange knowledge and experience in favour of team’s best interest
  • Willingness to travel abroad when necessary to join Group Finance Meetings, Group Management Meetings in our Headquarter in Hamburg, Germany
